Centuries passed and the Queen, in her now weakened state, began to grow jealous of her own creation. She felt the King had abandoned her for her mortal children. In a fit of rage, the Queen altered the blood of the Gekkia. She made them smarter but shortened their lifespan. Now sentient, the Gekkia evolved to form advanced civilizations and even began to conquer the stars. The Gekkia became known as the Gek, leaving behind their more primitive ancestry. The Queen hoped that the Gek's newfound ambitions would force the King to spend less time with them but her plan backfired. 

 

The King's admiration of the Gekkia inspired a father-like love of the evolving species. As they grew he tended to them as best he could in times of great peril. Many Gek began to worship the King as the father of the universe. The bond between the Blue King and the Gek only became stronger as the stars grew older. This ignited a fury within the Red Queen.
